Transit of Mercury
I have been watching the transit of Mercury across the face of the sun today through a commercial solar telescope.
(Never ever look at the sun with the naked eye, binoculars or telescope or try to photograph it using a home made filter. You will cause severe irreversible damage to your eyes and your camera.)
The attached photograph was taken through professionally manufactured solar film material.
It was handheld so is a little blurred but you can see the tiny dot which is the planet Mercury.
The blurred dot above the r of the word Mercury is a sun spot.
