The Wear in flood
While nowhere near as bad as the weather suffered by the NW of England, the rain today has filled the River Wear almost to the top of its banks in Wolsingham.
I managed to get into the observatory for the first time for weeks as the skies were clear on 21st December. Star images were out as the moon was almost full so I took some pictures of the moon instead.
This is the first time we have walked along the river since storm Desmond The water has been 12 to 14 feet up the banks and has left a lot of debris behind. There are many large trees that have come down in the wind. On the plus side there are snowdrops pushing through.
