Lovejoy and the Pleiades
Comet Lovejoy was passing the Pleiades star cluster last night so I grabbed some colour images using a Canon DSLR and 100mm lens mounted on a tracking mount. This image is a stack of 20 one minute images.
The comet's tail is just visible.
I have managed to grab an image of Comet Lovejoy which was at its brightest this week between Orion and the Pleiades.
I also took a widefield image of the Orion area using over an hour of data. You can see the Orion nebula, the flame nebula and a tiny horsehead nebula.
