Redwing

There was a beautiful redwing feeding on the ground in my nature garden this morning. Fuzzy picture as it was with a mobile phone through perspex windows.

Red Squirrel

I was very lucky to get a close view of a red squirrel at a site in North Durham yesterday.

Song Thrush

There was a beautiful Song Thrush foraging in the snow in the garden this afternoon. This is the first one we have seen for several months.

Long Tailed Tits

I  had a very cold walk at Low Barns yesterday morning.  The cold weather had attracted a flock of Long Tailed Tits to the feeders outside the West Hide.

Snowdrops

Saw our first snowdrops today in Wolsingham

Flame Nebula and Horsehead Nebula

The image below is a stacked and processed image made from 10 four minute exposures taken on 5th Jan of the area of the orion nebula around the left hand star in his belt - Alnitak, which is the bright star in the top centre of the image.

To the middle left is the Flame Nebula and to the lower right the dark Horsehead Nebula.

Jupiter

I captured some good video footage of Jupiter on New Years Eve.
