Long tailed Tits

There were four Long Tailed Tits on our bird feeder this morning. Of course as soon as I got the camera they flew away.

Christmas Day Moon and Jupiter

The Moon was very close to Jupiter high in the Eastern sky this evening at 19.00.

Jay at Low Barns

I had a walk round Low Barns early this morning. The River Wear was very high and there was evidence of flooding all over the reserve.
There were 24 Cormorants on the main lake.  There seem to be more every time I go.
I had a good view of a pair of Jays just as I was leaving the reserve.

Geminid Meteors

I went out last night with a view to seeing some of the annual Geminid Meteors.

The sky cleared partially from 9 p.m. to 9.45 p.m and I saw six meteors, five faint and one quite bright.
The sky clouded over at 9.45 and that was it for the night.

Still six is better than nothing which was my total for the Perseids and Leonids earlier this year.

Oh for some cloud free weather!
