Wood mouse in garden
Spent several minutes yesterday watching a young woodmouse feeding on peanuts beneath the bird feeder in the garden.
I took several photographs, crawling right up to within a metre of it. It didn't seem wary of me at all. I hope it learns some sense before the local cat comes along.
Walked through village and back via old railway line. 25+ swallows on the wires, probably passing through on their way south. Several Common Darter dragonflies on the ponds next to the railway footpath and a grey squirrel crossing the path.
