Sound recording in Tunstall Woods
I had an enjoyable morning trying out a new sound recorder in Tunstall Woods. Not very good recordings I'm afraid. I need a more directional microphone and a lot more practice!
At one point a Great Spotted Woodpecker obligingly started to drum in the tree just above my head. There are Blackbirds and Chaffinches calling in the background.
Great Spotted Woodpecker
There is also a cuckoo still resident in the woods.
Cuckoo
As I left the woods at the north end of the reservoir there was a Blackcap singing in the willow bushes. You can also hear Cuckoo, Graylag Geese and Willow Warbler in the background.
